Oily Products That Can Be Used When Massaging After Rhinoplasty

Post rhinoplasty massage

After the nasal aesthetic surgery, there are different application suggestions of different physicians about nose massage. When nasal massage is performed incorrectly and unconsciously, nasal distortion and vice versa may cause negative tissue healing. I would like to share with you the oil and similar products that can be used for nose massage. Please note that we will talk to you in detail about how to use these oils and how to clean the fats (these oils should not be applied directly to the area of the open skin and mucosal damaged areas).

Oils and other products for nasal massage:

- Pure olive oil
- Centaury oil (red and yellow centaury)
- Johnson Baby Fat
- Castor Oil (Castor Oil)
- Bio Oil
- Essential oil (volatile oil, ethereal oil, aetherolea)

Extra virgin olive oil

Nose massage can be done by using pure olive oil after nose surgery. Due to its vitamin content and moisturizing properties, olive oil is frequently used in different cosmetics and cleaning products.

Johnson's® Baby Oil

Johnson's Baby Bebek Yağı

It is a product that I frequently recommend to my patients. When applied on wet or damp skin; It moistens 10 times more. Made for babies, this product is ideal for nose massage. Damaged skin areas should not be brought into contact during massage as with other oils.

Centaury Oil

St. John's Wort (Hypericum perforatum) has been shown to have a beneficial effect on skin diseases as a result of research. Light-skinned people are advised to avoid light environments as they are sensitive to light during plant use. Source >> Centaurium erythraea - Wikipedia
Apart from these oil-based products, edema is used as a bruise remover and gel or creams can also be used in nose massage. Links to the names of some of these products >> Rhinoplasty Recovery Guide 👃 - 32 - Edema and Bruises Relief Medications Which Can Be Used After Rhinoplasty

Nose massaging at 1 week after rhinoplasty video

In the above video, a symmetric and very simple nose massage video that can be performed in the first week after rhinoplasty operation is seen. Asymmetric nose massages can also be recommended in the following weeks.

Dr.Murat Enoz Is Talking About "Nose Massage After Rhinoplasty"

In the video above, you can watch the oil-free nose massage video with Arnica Gel. Nasal massage can be done with Arnica gel, which is kept in the refrigerator door and is applied to the nose in a cold state. It can be easily cleaned with a wet paper towel.

Clean the oil from the skin after nose massage!

After rhinoplasty, clean the oil-based products used as lubricants for nasal massage by using saline and make-up cleansing cotton. A chemical skin cleanser should not be used without consulting the doctor.

Do not heat the nose during nose massage!

A traumatic and pressured nasal massage may cause the nasal skin to warm up and rapidly increase edema. You can use the lubricant products in a cold manner by storing them from the refrigerator door and you can reduce the heat that can occur due to friction without pressing too much on the massage.

The information in this guide was prepared by Dr.Murat Enöz for patients who underwent rhinoplasty.
You can find different opinions and suggestions from other clinics and doctors. Please take into consideration
the recommendations of the doctors who performed your aesthetic nose surgery. Sometimes drug names given here
only in Turkey may also belong to the drugs found. Plenty of luck :)
