Open Technique Septoplasty + Nose Tip Lifting Operation
The advantages of simultaneous application of two processes
We performed open technique septoplasty and nose tip lifting procedure in our patient who had advanced nasal septum deviation in the nose and droop at the nose tip. In fact, the curved cartilage areas in the nasal septum are already removed during the surgery and we use this cartilage to create the nasal tip support, allowing the tip of the nose to move forward and slightly upwards. The advantages of simultaneous application of two processes can be considered as follows:
• when removing the septum cartilages that obstruct the airways in the nose, some of these cartilages are also used for the nasal tip lifting process, ie the patient's own tissue is placed again in the nose.
• In patients with low nasal tip, more narrow than normal in the nasal valve region, which is the narrowest airway region of the nose, occurs. Permanently increasing the tip of the nose in this way provides a permanent expansion of the nasal airways and an increase in the nasal valve angle
• Since the tissues used in this procedure are the patient's own tissues, both permanent results are obtained and no permanent industrial material is used.
