Tonsil Removal Operation Video
The thermal welding device is an insulated tool that uses heat energy for tissue cutting and prevents the heat energy from spreading within a few millimeters at distance on tissues. Mucosa and muscle tissue heat damages that determine pain after tonsillectomy. The least painful methods cmay define as least cause to heat damage of tonsil outside when tonsillectomy surgery is performed. The thermal welding device is an insulated tool that prevents the heat energy from spreading within a few millimeters. Mucosa and muscle tissue which outside the tonsils are minimally effected by heat transmission thus this determine pain after tonsillectomy, is an index that reduces heat damage, thus reducing the pain felt after tonsillectomy surgery.
Most of the pain experienced by patients after tonsillectomy operations is associated with heat injury. Generally, the most advantageous among tonsillectomy operations are the techniques that minimize heat damage and pain. In tonsillectomy operations performed with a thermal welding device, heat damage and tissue damage are greatly reduced.
My friend who was shooting the video was a little shaken in the shooting but I still thank everyone who has been in labor.
Tonsillectomy operations can be planned, especially in patients with large tonsils and sleep apnea symptoms or recurrent tonsil infections.
Partial Tonsillectomy / Tonsil Reduction With Radiofrequency / Total Tonsillectomy Which Is Best?
I would like to talk about these techniques, which are always spoken by our patients as if they are alternatives to each other, and I would like to explain the statements written above. The above-mentioned reduction of tonsil volume, partial resection of the tonsil and complete surgical removal of the tonsil are different procedures, and you should talk to your otolaryngologist in detail about whether these procedures are suitable for you.
Partial tonsillectomy consists of a number of techniques, including partial resection of tonsillar tissue. Partial removal of tonsillar tissue may relieve air passage in patients, especially in patients with tonsillar size larger than normal. The disadvantages of this technique are that there is a risk of regrowth of the tonsillar tissue and the risk of bleeding after the operation may be higher than that of classical tonsillectomy. The vessels passing through the tonsil may need to be cauterized with radiofrequency during the operation and may cause more post-procedural pain in patients. Classical total tonsillectomy operation performed after partial tonsillectomy may be more difficult due to fibrosis-healing tissue.
During tonsil reduction procedures with radiofrequency, radiofrequency is applied into the tonsil. During this procedure, the local fibrotic process is initiated with radiofrequency probes inserted into the tonsil. After the procedure here, small abscess foci and severe pain may occur in the tonsil tissue. The biggest disadvantage is that the pain felt is much more.
Classical total tonsillectomy operation can be chosen as the only option in patients with recurrent tonsil infections. Especially in cases where tonsil tissue needs to be completely removed, such as PFAPA Syndrome, tonsil tissue can be completely removed by using different devices and techniques. Partial tonsil removal or radiofrequency ablation of tonsils cannot be an alternative to classical total tonsillectomy in patients with recurrent tonsil infections and severe signs of infection. A sufficient reduction in the number of infections in patients cannot be expected with radiofrequency tonsil reduction.
Apart from the above-mentioned techniques, there are many different modified techniques. It is best to talk to your ENT specialist who examined you to decide whether these techniques and which procedure is suitable for you.
