The nasal septum deviation causes a mechanical airway obstruction in the nasal cavity. As a result, the area causing the obstruction is the cartilage and the bone structure at the back. Once these curved areas have been surgically removed, the cartilage is not easy to reshape or warp. The nasal cartilage curvature does not reappear after deviation surgery without mechanical trauma, medication or infection that may affect the shape of the cartilage.

After turbinate radiofrequency treatment, the turbinates may grow again, but after the septoplasty operation, the nasal septum deviation does not repeat without trauma.
