Navigating the Waters: Swimming After Septoplasty Operation
First of all, it is not appropriate to perform septoplasty under the age of 18 and my dear girl model in the photo above 😌.
I would like to briefly give you some information about swimming after the septoplasty operation. If you go to clean seas, you can swim in the sea after 2 weeks. It is ideal to wait 2 or 3 more weeks to dive. I generally suggest that pools that are cleaned by chlorination should not be entered for 4-6 months.
If you plan to dive in the sea half an hour ago, pull a handful of sea water into your nose and let it dry without pressure (you can do this several times), you will notice the feeling of relaxation in your nose after waiting for its drying. If your nose is still clogged and is not open with sea water or spray, it is not appropriate to dive.
Apart from this, you can stay for a long time in the sun during noon hours and increase your nose bleeding risk.

Septoplasty is a surgical procedure aimed at correcting a deviated septum, the cartilage and bone that divide the nasal cavity. While this surgery is common for addressing breathing difficulties, particularly due to nasal obstruction, concerns about the appropriate age for undergoing septoplasty often arise. This article explores the factors influencing the age limit for septoplasty, the surgical procedure itself, and considerations for individuals across different age groups.
What is Septoplasty?
Septoplasty is a surgical procedure performed to straighten or correct a deviated septum. The septum, a structure made of cartilage and bone, ideally separates the nasal cavity into two equal parts. When the septum is deviated, it can cause nasal obstruction, leading to difficulty breathing, snoring, or sinus-related issues.
Indications for Septoplasty
Breathing Difficulties: The primary indication for septoplasty is to address breathing difficulties caused by a deviated septum. This may be a congenital condition or the result of trauma or injury.
Chronic Nasal Congestion: Individuals experiencing chronic nasal congestion due to a deviated septum may opt for septoplasty to alleviate symptoms and improve quality of life.
Sleep Apnea: In some cases, septoplasty may be recommended as part of the treatment for sleep apnea, particularly if nasal obstruction contributes to the condition.
