Sinus rinse is defined as high pressure nasal washing system and high volume nasal washing system and rhino horn (neti pot). Both products can be used for good washing of the nose and removal of shells. At the end of the nose aesthetic surgery, I advise my patients not to miss the fountain water for at least 2-3 weeks. After 3 weeks, I recommend using products such as sinus rinse or rhino horn alone or in combination with high pressure hypertonic ocean water "Sinomarin ENT Spray".

Before using the sinus rinse or neti pot, it is ideal to wash the inside of the bottle with warm detergent water and not use boiled chilled water.

If water does not enter fully through the nose (if a nostril is clogged with a clot or shells), please do not apply pressure (note that middle ear may cause barotrauma or nasal bleeding!)

Important information about using Sinus Rinse after rhinoplasty

- Consult your surgeon before using sinus rinse

- Using boiled and cooled water in the sinus rinse bottle can reduce the risk of microorganism contamination.

- More than one person should not use a single sinus rinse bottle.

- It is ideal to clean the bottle daily by rinsing it with hot water and detergent.

- Sinus rinse boxes contain powder packages containing ready-made salt and baking soda. If you run out of these powders, you can add a teaspoon of salt and half a teaspoon of baking soda to 200 ml of water and apply it with a sinus relief bottle.

- When applying sinus rinse, place the bottle in a slightly vertical position and in the upper nostril, avoid applying severe pressure.

- When applying sinus rinse, please remember to open your mouth and turn your head sideways. In this way, your mouth will be an alternative safety exit for the water to come out after it enters through the upper nose. In this way, the risk of eardrum trauma is reduced.

- If you experience ear pain while applying sinus rinse, stop the application immediately.

The contents of the sinus rinse boxes produced in Turkey have been modified to have hypertonic or hyaluronic acid moisturizing properties.
