Treatment of Nasal Septum Deviation Is A "Surgical Procedure"
In newborns, nasal septum deviation due to nasal compression generally resolve spontaneously, but most authors believe that nasal septum dislocation should be treated by manual reduction in the newborn nursery (soruce link >> Nasal septum deviation - an overview | ScienceDirect Topicsaneously). In other words, there is a possibility of spontaneously fixing in nasal septum deviations resulting from nasal compression.
No herbal treatment method is availabe for nasal septum deviation!
The deviation of the nasal septum is the septum curvature, which is a vertical section in the nose. In other words, there is a reducing of the nasal cavity volume mechanically. Unlike turbinate hypertrophy, which is another cause of nasal congestion, it is not possible to treat septum deviations by medication or a natural herbal treatment method. I added this information because of there are many different web sites containing information about herbal tratment of "stuffiness" and nasal septum deviation is a "mechanical cartiage and bony curvature". Treatment is needed that surgical removing of these deviated part of the septum. In the Internet environment there are such expressions that "how to correct the nasal curvature at home?", "Natural solution to the curvature of the nasal bone", "natural treatment for twisting of the nasal bone" ...
The nasal septum is the structure that divides the cavity inside our nose into two in a vertical plane. This structure contains cartilage in the front and bone in the back, and both sides are covered with nasal epithelial tissue. When the nasal septum is curved to the right or left, it is called "nasal septum deviation" or "deviated nasal septum". Nasal septum deviation is found in more than 80% of people. When the nasal septum is curved to the right or left in this way, asymmetry occurs between the passages in the nose, and as the nasal septum curves, the air passage narrows on the side where it is curved. Patients experience symptoms such as nasal congestion, sleeping with the mouth open, and deterioration in sleep quality. Symptoms such as dry mouth, dental problems, and constantly lying on one side during sleep may also occur. Nasal septum deviation may occur due to genetic or traumatic causes. Nasal septum deviation may usually be present in patients without any symptoms. However, surgical treatment should be planned for nasal septum deviations that can affect the quality of life of patients, affect the quality of sleep and cause complaints such as constant nasal congestion. Not every deviated septum requires a surgical procedure. A procedure can only be planned for symptomatic septum deviations that cause complaints. Some septum deviations are close to the "nasal valve area", which is the narrowest air space in the nose, and even small deviations can cause serious increased intranasal airway resistance and nasal congestion. In septum deviations, it is not expected to correct the deviated cartilage or bone area with medical treatment. Medical treatment can only change the intranasal mucosa and turbinate volumes. It cannot correct the septum. Deviated septum is a mechanical problem and its treatment is surgical.
Local spray and drops, which can be prepared at home or used in the saline, are only effective on turbinates and nasal mucosa. It is not possible to correct the nasal cartilage with a drug or herbal product.
Laser and endoscope assisted septoplasty operation
When there is a tortuosity in the nasal cartilage (septum deviation occurs due to congenital or traumatic causes), there is no non-surgical treatment method that can change the cartilage shape. It has been reported that the nasal septum has been corrected using a laser in order to have the least possible surgical trauma (source link >> Laser-assisted outpatient septoplasty and laser-assisted ... ) and septoplasty operation by endoscopic method (source link >> A Comparative Study of Endoscopic Septoplasty Versus Conventional ...).
The treatment of septum deviation is a "surgical" procedure!
The treatment of septum deviation is a "surgical" procedure. The aim of septum deviation surgery is to obtain at least septum cartilage and to protect the nasal support tissues (minimal traumatic surgery).
