One Week Post-Rhinoplasty: Our Patient’s Journey Back to London After Surgery in Istanbul

My patient who came from England for nose aesthetic surgery, caudal septum deviation correction surgery and turbinate radiofrequency in Istanbul.  He is returning to his country one week after the surgeries. The photo was taken 7 days after the rhinoplasty operation and the tip of the nose seems quite edematous. Little or no bruising around the eyes.

"Having a rhinoplasty is a big decision, especially for international patients who travel abroad for surgery. Our patient from London chose to have a rhinoplasty in Istanbul, known for its advanced medical facilities and experienced surgeons. Just one week after her surgery, she is now preparing to return home; she is pleased with the results and the care she received during her stay.

The first week after rhinoplasty is crucial for recovery. There are many patients from abroad who come to Istanbul for rhinoplasty and revision rhinoplasty. The fact that our patients are happy and leave here happily is what makes us the happiest. They usually stay in the hospital on the day of surgery and are then discharged. They are in Istanbul for a total of 7 to 9 days. Our patients stay in a lodge. Istanbul is a very beautiful city. I had previously published a link about restaurants and places to visit during a one-week stay in Istanbul. Bleeding can be heavy after the surgery for the first 3 days and long-distance trips may not be very suitable, but since nosebleeds decrease 3 days after the rhinoplasty operation, we can recommend our patients to plan walks or trips to distant areas, especially in the early morning and late evening. Many different suggestions can be considered, such as a Bosphorus tour in the evening, breakfast on the islands in the early morning, and going to various restaurants with a view of the Bosphorus in the evening. You normally need at least a few months to fully explore Istanbul, which has all kinds of historical and touristic natural areas. After one week has passed since the rhinoplasty operation, we invite you to our office and remove the silicone splints inside the nose and the bandage outside the nose. The inside of the nose is cleaned. A bandage is applied again on the nose and after showing you how to place a nostril retainer on the tip of the nose, we send you on your way back to your country.
