Revision Nose Job Surgery Using Auricle Skin and Cartilage + Rib Cartilage
In this article, I share with you photos of an interesting and difficult operation before and after. About 4 years ago, reconstructive aesthetic nose operations were performed in different clinics using different graft materials on a young male patient who had loss of nose at the tip of the nose and upper lip injury as a result of remote bullet injury. Unfortunately, as you can easily see when you look at the pre-operative visuals, the additional incision marks occurring in the tenth of the previous operations on the scalp resi, the deformity caused by the recurrent grafting from the left auricle; you can even see the vertical incision on the forehead (ie not all these scars are due to a bullet wound) It emerged as a result of the dislocation of the cartilages taken from the previously placed auricle, which appeared fibrotic and reddened at the tip of the nose (in the columella area) (we could understand all these details during the operation). A total of 7 nose operations have been performed previously.
As a result of the nasal examination of the patient, it was observed that there was serious tissue loss at the tip of the nose, and many incisions were found on the scalp, on the forehead and behind the ear due to the removal of many unnecessary grafts. Skin + cartilage tissue (free composite tissue graft), approximately 2x1 cm in size, was removed from the auricle, behind the right ear of the patient, and an L strut was created using irradiated cadaver rib cartilage, sutured on the columella with the skin out. It was one of the difficult operations in my professional life.
You can find pre and post-operation images in the photos below.
