Asymmetrical and Thick Skinned Nose Aesthetic

We performed "aesthetic and functional" rhinoplasty operation for a nose with thick skin features, asymmetric structure and hanging columella. Since the patient especially wanted a natural appearance, the least possible anatomical changes were aimed. At the same time, the patient with nasal septum deviation underwent septoplasty operation. The tongue-in-groove (TIG) technique and medial crus overlapping technique and septocolumellar suture were used to correct the  drooping columella.

In rhinoplasty operations, we generally aim to shape the nose according to the patient's facial structure. Here, I shared with you a female patient with a large and wide eye structure. In patients with such a facial structure, the nose tip should be as wide as this distance, roughly as the distance that appears when we divide the face into 5 equal parts in the vertical plane. In this patient, the fact that the tip of the nose is very thin and sharp-edged may cause it to be unnatural. You can discuss these details with your surgeon before the operation.

During the reduction of the nasal hump, a micromotor system and a tungsten probe were used to obtain as smooth a surface as possible.
