Rhinoplasty Recovery Guide 👃 - 13 - Waiting For You During The First Week After Rhinoplasty

Waiting for you during the first week after nose job surgery

During the first week of rhinoplasty recovery time

The presence of internal silicone splints and external splints on the nose in the first week after a nasal surgery may be uncomfortable to the patient. During the first week, the amount of edema on the nose increases. Otherwise, the under-eye violence may increase within the first 3 days after surgery. After the first week, all these negative changes are in the period of recovery. After completion of the first 3 days, there is a decrease in bleeding from the front and back of the nose in the form of leaking or dripping. For this reason, do not worry if you see an edematous nose when splinted and intranasal silicone splints are removed. You can see a bigger nose than you expect!

In the first week, it is necessary to use spray - drops in the nose, to apply antibiotic pomade to the stitched area at the end of the nose, and oral antibiotics, pain relievers. You can find more detailed information on the link on the side.

Especially during the first week after rhinoplasty, your room may be cool, avoiding movements that will increase blood pressure and standing up at rest, contributing to less bruising and swelling around the nose and face. It is very important this week to pay attention to your doctor's recommendations.

After rhinoplasty, after the first week is completed, after the internal nasal silicone splints are removed, you can start using a nostril retainer. You need to place it inside the nose for at least 8 hours a day. You can coat the outside of the Nostril retainer with eye ointment. Usually 1 month, sometimes 2 may be appropriate. If, after a few weeks, you notice that one nostril is slightly smaller than the other, you can use the nostril retainer unilaterally. After rhinoplasty, after the first week is completed, the outside of the nose will be taped again with brown, 3M micropore tape and an aluminum splint will be placed on it. You can completely remove this bandage after 1 week and place it yourself.

After rhinoplasty, after 2 weeks, you can start taping at night and nasal massage during the day. Detailed links that I have prepared beforehand on this subject >> How to Make a Nasal Massage After Aesthetic Nose Surgery? / Taping After Rhinoplasty

Once the external nasal splint has been removed, you will have to wait for the final result!

Swelling time after rhinoplasty

Remember that after the nasal surgery, the ointment will be fully removed and the tissue healing should be expected for several months. After nasal aesthetics, 80% of the pills are removed in 2 months, about 90% in 6 months and 100% in about 1.5 years. Edema in the tip of the nose can last for up to 2 years in patients with thick skin structure.

The recovery times and recovery rates written here may vary depending on the surgical trauma performed, the patient's skin and healing characteristics, and the patient's care. Especially if a complicated revision rhinoplasty operation is performed with thick skin structure characteristics, the total recovery time may be longer than 2 years or even up to 3 years. After repeated rhinoplasty operations, recovery time may gradually increase.
