I usually recommend placing a nose bandage for a few weeks after a rhinoplasty operation. I usually renew the nose bandage every 1 week and apply the classic nose bandage for the first 2-3 weeks.After the nose bandage is completely removed, the nasal skin is cleaned with natural saline water before sleep in patients with nasal skin oil and very thick subcutaneous tissue (ocean water spray can be used. ) and I recommend applying a horizontal nasal patch before going to sleep. In fact, although it is applied only during sleep, pressure on the tip of the nose from below and from the front during the night may contribute to the early elimination of the edema of the skin at the tip of the nose or to reduce the edema that may occur. 

How can you do bedtime nasal taping?

Generally, I recommend using hypoallergenic brown, micropore-containing 3M paper tape to attach one u-shaped and several horizontal nasal strips from bottom to top. When looking at the mirror, it may be appropriate to attach a horizontal band to apply pressure to that area, which is more edematous from the side. While the horizontal nose band is attached, it may be appropriate to apply a wide band that reaches the cheeks.

Bromelain, green tea, quercetin, arnica montana flower extract ...

The use of various herbal ingredients may be beneficial for accelerating postoperative recovery and not producing exaggerated healing tissue. Although it is adorable, there are many clinics that recommend the use of these products before and after the rhinoplasty operation. I generally recommend the use of these products, especially in the first 15 days after surgery. Local skin products containing vitamin A derivatives

Local skin products, especially used in the treatment of acne and containing retinoid derivative, which has the drying effects of the tongue and reduces the volume of fat cells, can be used after a few months after surgery. Because of the possibility of negative effects on healing, I have never had any patients using it in the early period. It's a controversial issue. It is enough to pay attention to the recommendations of the physician operating you.

Salt restriction

Especially in patients with very thick skin features, salt restriction in the diet for 2-4 months after surgery may be beneficial.

Skin thinning with laser

Laser beams can be used in many different areas. Especially making capillary vessels on the skin invisible, increasing skin nutrition, removing spots ... However, you should not be too hopeful about thinning the skin with laser. Keep in mind that side effects such as skin burns and negative impact on recovery in the surgery area may occur.

Pay close attention to activities that may cause edema in the nose after the operation!
