A Singing in The Ears What is Tinnitus? Tinnitus or tinnitus is the perception of sound without sound in the external environment. It may be due to a metabolic cause such as hearing loss, side effects of drugs, high tanning or high cholesterol, as well as due to inner ear tumors. Often at night, it is noticed after the outside sound has ceased. It is a very common subjective symptom, seen in approximately 1 in 5 people over the age of 65. Tinnitus can be detected in one or both ears. Oral Human Papillomavirus (HPV) Infection More Common Now! What is HPV? Human Papillomavirus (HPV) are viruses that are sexually transmitted and cause "genital warts" among the public. More than 100 subtypes have been isolated. The vast majority (~ 85 to 90%) of HPV-positive oropharyngeal cancers are associated with HPV-16 and HPV-18 subtypes. The same two subtypes are positive in 70% of cervical cancers (cervical cancers) and precancerous cervical lesions. It is not necessary to have lesions in the throat area in all patients with HPV virus, and routine otolaryngological examinations may be normal. How Is HPV Transmitted? The reservoir for this virus is human (it can be found in other animals). Virus transmission can be sexually or directly through mucosal contact. Genital HPV infection can also be transmitted non-sexually, but this is rare. For example, transmission of a newborn baby from the mother during birth is a non-sexual form of transmission. Foreign Body in The External Ear Canal in a Child: Pencil Tip

External Auditory Canal Foreign Body In the control examination of the patient, where I previously placed an ear ventilation tube (1.14 mm T Tube) due to chronic serous otitis media treatment, we found a pencil-like, cylindrical, almost black foreign body at the entrance of the external auditory canal (EAC). The foreign body was removed with the help of a curette. No trauma or pathological condition was found in the external auditory canal. It was interesting that the patient had no complaints and we detected it by chance. Especially young children are more likely to see foreign body in the external auditory canal. While some patients may experience pain, obstruction or discharge in the external auditory canal; Symptoms may not be seen in foreign objects that are small and do not obstruct the external ear canal and do not have chemical or acidic properties. In my professional life, I have had a patient with whom I produced very different types of insects from the external auditory cana
